Groups
- Point guard — The floor general — runs the offence and sets up team-mates.
- Shooting guard — The scorer — shooting from range and off the dribble.
- Small forward — The all-rounder — scores, defends, and does a bit of everything.
- Power forward — The inside-outside forward — strong near the basket and on the boards.
- Centre — The anchor — rim protection, rebounding, and finishing inside.
