DISC assessment

DISC is a behavioural assessment model derived from psychologist William Moulton Marston's 1928 theory of emotions, later turned into a self-report questionnaire by industrial psychologist Walter Clarke in the 1940s. It sorts people into four primary behavioural styles based on how they respond to challenges, influence others, react to pace, and approach rules. Our free course explains all four styles, shows how DISC is used in teams, and ends with how to adapt your communication to work better with each — a practical tool for self-awareness rather than a validated scientific model.

DISC is a widely used workplace personality tool but is not considered a rigorously validated scientific model of personality on par with the empirically supported Big Five. (William Moulton Marston (1928 theory); assessment developed by Walter Clarke and others, 1940s onward)
