The Daily Spiritual Experience Scale (Underwood & Teresi, 2002) is a validated measure of how often a person has ordinary experiences of connection to the transcendent in daily life. It measures frequency rather than which experiences, and is used across both religious and secular groups. (Daily Spiritual Experience Scale (DSES))

Dimensions

• Frequency (Rarely – Many times a day) — How often, in ordinary daily life, you feel a deep sense of peace, awe, gratitude, or connection to something greater than yourself — whether you frame it in religious or secular terms.
