Relationship status
Relationship status is a standard demographic field used on social platforms, surveys, and official forms to describe a person's current romantic or marital situation. It draws on civil legal statuses (such as marriage and divorce) alongside informal self-described states, and sorts people by their present partnership arrangement.
This is a descriptive demographic and civil-status classification, not a scientific or psychological typology; categories vary by jurisdiction and personal interpretation. (Composite of civil/legal marital-status categories and social-media relationship fields; widely standardised from the mid-20th century onward.)
