- Devout household — Religion was central to daily family life.
- Moderately religious — Regular observance, but not all-encompassing.
- Cultural or nominal — Religious in tradition and name, lightly practised.
- Secular / non-religious — Little or no religion at home.
- Mixed-faith household — More than one faith present in the home.
