Tech adoption curve
How quickly you take up new technology — your place on the classic adoption curve from sociology.
Based on Everett Rogers' diffusion-of-innovations model — a recognised framework, applied here as a light self-ID. (Diffusion of innovations (Rogers))
Groups
- Innovator — First in line — tries the brand-new and the unreleased.
- Early adopter — Jumps on new tech early, before it's mainstream.
- Early majority — Adopts once something has proven itself a little.
- Late majority — Waits until most people have already switched.
- Laggard — Sticks with the familiar — adopts only when there's no choice.
